Mark bought a new video game. It’s really popular. Eveyone wants the game. He waited in line to buy it for four hours! It’s called Race Maze. Two players* play against* each other. They solve* puzzles to finish the race. It’s difficult* to play. There are eighteen levels*! Mark stayed up really late. Now he’s very tired.

Conversation A
(in the studio)
Rob: Mark, you look tired.
Mark: Hi, Rob. I am really tired and sore.
Rob: Why?
Mark: I stayed up really late last night. So I’m really sleepy today.
Rob: What were you doing?
Mark: Well . . . I was playing my new video game.
Rob: Really?! What is it called?
Mark: Race Maze.
Rob: Everyone wants that game. It’s really popular!

Conversation B
Mark: It’s too popular! I waited in line for four hours to buy it!
Rob: Wow. That’s a long time. How many did you buy?
Mark: Two. One for my brother and one for me.
Rob: How do you play?
Mark: There are two players*. They play against* each other.
Rob: What do they do?
Mark: The goal is to finish the maze. Both players solve* puzzles.

Conversation C
Rob: What do they do after they solve a puzzle?
Mark: The first player to solve a puzzle chooses a direction.
Rob: So the first player to finish the maze wins?
Mark: That’s right.
Rob: It sounds like a fun game.
Mark: Yes! It is! But it’s difficult*, too.
Rob: How many levels* are there?
Mark: Eighteen!
Rob: What level are you on?
Mark: Two!
