Christmas Traditions
聖誕節傳統
Ruth Devlin

Christmas is many people’s favorite holiday. They celebrate it with many traditions. Most people put up a Christmas tree in their house. They decorate it with colorful ornaments and little lights. Then they wrap gifts for others and put them under the tree. Many bake Christmas cookies. They keep some for themselves and give some to friends and family. Christmas is a time for sending cards, too. These cards often include photos of their activities during the year.

Find It

Who gave Sam some Christmas cookies?

Conversation A

(in the Jungle Café)

Sam:   Hi, Susie! Are you all ready for Christmas?

Susie:  Pretty much. How about you?

Sam:   I only have a few more gifts to wrap.

Susie:  Good for you. I’m just writing my last Christmas card.

Sam:    You actually write cards? I just send mine online.

Susie:  I always send paper cards. I make photo cards, so people see my activities during the year.

Sam:    That’s a nice tradition.

Conversation B

Susie:   Did you put up a Christmas tree and decorate it?

Sam:    Of course! I put lots of colorful ornaments and little lights on it.

Susie:  And did you bake any Christmas cookies?

Sam:   No, but my neighbors did. They gave me some.

Susie:  That’s nice. I baked cookies and gave them to people, too. I love Christmas cookies.

Sam:   Me, too. And I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday.
