  Look up into the night sky. Stargazing is a fun hobby. Many people enjoy it. What can you look for in the night sky? Find the Big Dipper. This group of stars forms a giant spoon. Then find the North Star. This important star helps people find north. The sky is full of billions of interesting stars. You can’t count them all!

(in the studio)



Julie:    Hey, Greg. You like stargazing, right?



Greg:    Yes, I do. It is one of my favorite hobbies.



Julie:    What do you enjoy about it?



Greg:    Stargazing is peaceful.



Julie:    It is. It’s just you and a sky full of stars.



Greg:    That’s right. You don’t really need anything but your eyes.



Julie:    And a very dark place.

Greg:    What do you look for?



Julie:    I search for the Big Dipper first.



Greg:    Me, too. It looks like a giant spoon.



Julie:    Then I find the North Star.



Greg:    I always look for that, too.



Julie:    It’s an important star. It helps people find north.



Greg:    Do you ever count the stars?



Julie:    No. You can’t. There are billions of them!
